Lindsay Wildlife Rehabilitation Hospital
The hospital is open everyday to provide free veterinary care to native California wildlife. Because wildlife does not have health insurance, we pay 100% of the medical cost and depend on donations to continue our life-saving work.
As we are primarily a volunteer-based organization, we unfortunately do not have the resources to respond to or transport injured, orphaned, or sick wildlife offsite. We treat all California native wildlife that is brought to our
hospital with the goal of returning patients to the wild, where they belong.

Lindsay Wildlife Rehabilitation Hospital is the first and among the largest wildlife rehabilitation centers in the United States. It treats more than 5,500 injured and orphaned wild animals each year. The hospital is a pioneer in wildlife rehabilitation.
More than 98 percent of the animals treated at the hospital are admitted due to adverse contact with human activity. Animals are brought in by the public and the county animal service agency. All services provided by the wildlife hospital are free of charge, although donations are gratefully accepted. Along with treating animals, Lindsay Wildlife Experience educates the public to prevent similar problems in the future.
The hospital’s goal is to provide the best medical and husbandry care to regional wild animals in need. Care takes place on-site and at the homes of trained volunteers. Approximately 350 volunteers donate 60,000 hours of service in the hospital each year.
