Build your foundation at FLBC | Free Lutheran Bible College
Why FLBC
Your first steps after high school set the trajectory for everything that follows. At FLBC,
you’ll
discover who you are in Christ, form a biblical worldview, and build a foundation that will guide every decision for decades to come.
Who You Are > What You Do
Making decisions about the future can be exciting—and overwhelming. The pressure to “get it right” often leads us to define ourselves by what we do: our major, our career, and our accomplishments.
But life
isn’t
about climbing ladders or chasing trends.
At FLBC,
you’ll
take two years to focus on Christ and His Word, forming a biblical worldview that gives you clarity and confidence no matter what comes next.

Seminary
Our graduate-level program equips pastors to serve in congregational ministry. A heavy emphasis is placed on Bible interpretation and original languages. Our residential-only approach gives students in-person discipleship and ministry experience as they prepare to become a pastor.

Bible & Ministry Diploma
Since its founding, FLBC has always offered a two-year Bible & Ministry diploma. Any student who has completed our two-year program but does not otherwise meet the State of Minnesota requirements for the AA, graduates at the diploma level. Essentially, the diploma is our AA program minus the math/logic credits.
No Seriously, 50 years later they're still talking about it!
Worth More Than You Pay

Frequently Asked Questions
At FLBC, we focus on formation, not just information. Students take more Bible courses in one year here than most Christian colleges require in four—because we believe a solid biblical foundation is essential for every calling. You’ll grow in a close-knit community that is grounded in God’s Word, discipled through authentic relationships, and equipped to serve through the local congregation. This isn’t just preparation for ministry—it’s preparation for life, helping you build a foundation that lasts through every season.
Yes! Many students use their time at FLBC as the perfect launching point for continued study. If you plan to pursue a career in ministry, our Bachelor of Arts in Bible and Ministry offers a seamless degree completion pathway. If you’re heading into another field, our academic team will help you transfer credits from our nationally accredited program to another institution.

Life at FLBC is intentionally relational and spiritually formative. Over 90% of our students live on campus, sharing meals, classes, and worship together every day. Our dedicated student life staff, engaged faculty, and Christ-centered community create an environment where deep friendships form and discipleship happens naturally. This is a place to wrestle with big questions, grow in faith, and experience transformation that lasts far beyond graduation.
Many private colleges are financially out of reach—but at FLBC, we’ve made a radically different choice. Because we believe deeply in discipling the next generation, faithful donors cover more than one-third of the true cost before students ever enroll. That generosity keeps tuition significantly lower than most private colleges—while including room, board, and discipleship-rich programming.
Your spiritual foundation shouldn’t come with a lifetime of financial burden. At FLBC, generosity makes it possible for students to grow in Christ without overwhelming debt.
