Who we are
The Premier’s Department and The Cabinet Office commenced operations on 1 July 2023 as separate but complementary agencies at the centre of government, replacing the Department of Premier and Cabinet.
The Premier’s Department leads the state’s 430,000 public servants, driving collaboration and the delivery of whole-of-government priorities.

Data Breach Policy and Public Notification Register
Part 6A of the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 (NSW) (the PPIP Act) sets out obligations of public sector agencies, including the Premier’s Department, in relation to data breaches involving personal information. These obligations include a requirement to prepare and publish a data breach policy and to keep a register of public notifications made to affected individuals.
