New York Military Academy Cadets actively seek pathways to leadership through our Military Leadership Program. With this in mind, the school’s academic and curricular programs have been carefully geared to engender a successful and disciplined learner who is ready to face the challenges of the 21st century. The mission of New York Military Academy is to develop our cadets in mind, body, and character in preparation for further education and leadership.

At NYMA we value students’ holistic development through access to robust visual arts programs. Tailored to individual skills and interests, our diverse course offerings, performance opportunities, and community engagements foster both academic and artistic growth. This collaboration enhances our curriculum, providing students with comprehensive arts training and setting the stage for their future success.

This is the first school of its kind that teaches leaders adaptability and entrepreneurial spirit, giving them a strong foundation in financial knowledge. We develop an innovative design thinking approach to solve real life problems. We prioritize practical skills to build a solid foundation for independent living. We teach the cadets to increase their financial responsibilities, contribute to a sustainable community and prepare them for an unpredictable but opportunity-filled future.

Four Pillars of Success
The mission of the New York Military Academy is to develop the cadets’ mind, body, character; preparing them for further education and to be effective leaders and responsible citizens. Inherent in this mission are our four pillars of Success:
ATHLETICS
Physical fitness dovetails with developing a cadet’s mind. All cadets participate in some form of athletics throughout the school year. The academy offers competitive inter-scholastic teams in several sports and intermural activities, emphasizes teamwork, resilience and courage.
CHARACTER
The academy believes in developing in their cadets the essential values of respect, responsibility, integrity, kindness, and caring. The Honor Code mandates that “A cadet will not lie, cheat, or steal, or tolerate those who do.” Character is taught everyday both in and outside of the classroom while focusing on traditional values ethics, honesty, loyalty and accountability.
ACADEMICS
A premier boarding school designed to develop great leaders. We offer a unique educational experience that providing our students a competitive advantage. Every cadet is prepared for college with a program that is rigorous and individually tailored. Qualified, conscientious teachers and smaller classes offer opportunities for every cadet to reach their potential.
LEADERSHIP
Developing future leaders is one of the unique aspects of the NYMA experience. Self-discipline, leadership, and citizenship are integrated into the daily life for the Corps of Cadets. As cadets move up in rank, they are given increasing levels of responsibilities in supervising, leading, and instructing fellow cadets.

Every cadet is prepared for college with a program that is individually tailored. Qualified, conscientious teachers and small classes offer opportunities and success stories that make the NYMA educational experience so sought after and valued.
Leadership
Developing future leaders is one of the unique aspects of the NYMA experience. Self-discipline, leadership, and citizenship are integrated into the daily life for the Corps of Cadets. As cadets move up in rank, they are given increasing levels of responsibilities in supervising, leading, and instructing fellow cadets.
Character
Developing good citizens requires developing the essentials of trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship.
Athletics
Physical fitness dovetails with developing a cadet's mind and all cadets participate in sports throughout the school year. The academy offers varsity and intramural teams that compete in a wide variety of sports.

This education is interlocked with military discipline, which provides the Cadets of the Corps beneficial training for life beyond the Academy’s walls. Cadets leave the Academy orderly, prompt, courteous, and self-confident. Our Military Academy puts cadets — “One Step Ahead.”
