NMUC library strives to provide the best facilities to users. As an academic library and an information centre, the library provides several facilities for the convenience of users during the learning period in the Netherlands Maritime University College. Each facility provided to is accessible to students and a staff of NMUC. Among the facilities provided are a computer lab, a discussion room, the carrel area, reading area and locker.

OPEN SHELVES (OS)
Library provides Maritime, Management, Law, Training, Islamic, Computing, et al. subject. Any reading book without “orange/pink label” can be borrowed by user. But only applicable for library member only.
REFERENCES (REF)
Had an orange/ a pink sticker on a book spine & cannot be borrowed.

When is the library open?
Library is open from 8.30am-5.30pm on Monday to Friday.
What to do if I fail to access to any journal in any database?
Since not all journals are subscribed by
the
library, users may not be able to get access or download the articles needed. Users are advised to consult the librarian to get the full text.
Can I ask any inquiry at the Circulation Counter?
Sure, you can walk in to the library or reach us via call 07-2182094
How long is the borrowing period allowed?
The period of
the
borrowing is subject to
the
material and
a
user category. Please refer to the
borrowing eligibility
table.

How to learn more on library use?
Library organizes
an
Information Literacy Class for all new students in order to teach all users using the library.
I have been registered as student/staff, do I automatically become a library member?
Nope, users have to fill up Membership Registration Form at
the
Circulation Counter.
What questions can be asked at the Reference Desk?
All questions related to
the
library collection, services and facilities can be asked.
What is Inter Library Loan service?
Inter Library Loan service helps
the
user to get library materials that are unavailable in NMUC Library from the other academic libraries in Malaysia.
How many titles are allowed through Inter Library Loan service?
It depends on
the
library. Each library has a different policy.

Opening Hours
Monday - Thursday :
8.30 am - 5.30 pm
Friday :
8.30 am - 12.30 pm
2.30 pm - 5.30 pm
Saturday, Sunday & Public Holidays Closed
The circulation/customer services counter & computer lab will be closed 15 minutes early before the library closing time.
Computer Lab
Limited for 30 people in one time. Make a reservation if you want to conduct class in the computer lab.
Wi-fi Zone
Wi-Fi is provided. Can get the password while in the campus.
Carrel Area (self-study)
Concept of this area is first come first serve. A capacity up to 8 people at a time
Reading Area
No personal belonging allowed in the library reading area. The reading area can fit up to 55 people.
Discussion Room
Up to 6 people allowed at one time. Maximum period the discussion room can be use is 2 hours.
Day Locker
Library provides 54 lockers and can be loaned for 1 day (8.30 am - 5.15 pm). You may get the keys at the library counter. Any late return will be charged RM1.00.
