Jodi Spoon-Sadlon, MA ’09, served as a dedicated school counselor at Lisa J. Mails
and Tovashal elementary schools within the Murrieta Valley Unified School District.
In recognition of her outstanding contributions to student support and well-being,
she was honored as the Riverside County School Counselor of the Year in 2018 and featured
in a documentary produced by the Riverside County Office of Education. Jodi earned
a master’s in education with a specialization in educational school counseling from
Azusa Pacific University. With a comprehensive background spanning elementary, middle,
and high school counseling, Jodi supports students in alternative education at the
middle and high school levels, bringing a holistic perspective to her work.

Per the Clery Act, Azusa Pacific University is required to publish the number of alleged
crimes reported to campus authorities during the past three years. These statistics
include all reported activity as defined and required by 20 U.S.C. 1092(f), such as
crimes that occurred on campus, in certain non-campus buildings or on property owned
or controlled by APU, and on public property immediately adjacent to and accessible
from campus.
The Annual Security Report also includes other information related to security, including
an explanation of the Clery Act, a definition of the enforcement authority of security
personnel, details about crime prevention on campus, and more.

For non-international graduate students enrolled at an Azusa Pacific University regional

All full-time international students holding an immigration document from Azusa Pacific
University (I-20 or DS 2019) are required to purchase the

Education and School Counseling Programs in Murrieta
Combining rigorous academics with hands-on field experience, APU’s educational and
school counseling programs at the Murrieta campus prepare you to support students’
academic and emotional well-being. APU’s Master of Arts in Education: Educational
Counseling, and the MAEd in Educational and Clinical Counseling programs allow aspiring
counselors to advance their careers with specialized training and education with the
option of pursuing an LPCC.
