Guidelines for Visitors
The support of family and friends can be integral to a patient’s treatment and well-being. We welcome patient visitors to our hospital and clinic system as part of our mission to provide exceptional care. Hospital visiting hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Visitor guidelines vary by unit-please read carefully:
Emergency Department:
Emergency Department staff will determine whether visitors can be allowed in patient rooms. If the patient requires admission to another hospital department, that department’s policy will be enforced.
Medical Surgical (MSU):
Visitors are welcome during visiting hours of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Critical Care Units (CCU):
Patients are allowed two (2) visitors at a time in a patient room. Additional arrangements can be made for minors visiting a patient room.
Surgical Services:
Patients are allowed one (1) approved visitor throughout their visit. Please note that if the patient requires admission to the MSU or CCU, that unit’s policy is then enforced.
Family Birth Center:
Visitors are welcome during visiting hours of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Medically Essential Support Person:
We allow one (1) companion for patients for whom a support person has been determined to be medically necessary for the care of the patient. This includes patients with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and patients with cognitive impairments including dementia.
Minors:
Exemptions may be made to some visitor limits if the patient is under age 18.
End-of-Life Situations:
Exceptions may be made for end-of-life situations.
We work closely with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Public Health-North Idaho Central District, other hospitals and other state and national agencies to develop policies that help to best protect our patients.
