Coolidge Museum Exhibit Design Plans – Forbes Library

The Coolidge Presidential Library and Museum is seeking to update the content of the permanent exhibit that will offer a thoughtful portrayal of Calvin and Grace Coolidge, balancing their personal lives, their record of public service, and early 20th century history. To achieve this goal, the museum exhibits committee selected Design Division, Inc. (DDI), an interpretive exhibition design firm, to reimagine and update the museum.
The result of a space analysis together with a content outline and established interpretive goals led DDI to propose organizing the interpretive content around geographic locations rather than in a strict chronology. The Schematic Exhibit Design explains the rationale behind this conclusion and illustrate the approach.
The downloadable PDF shows the design as DDI delivered it. It is best viewed printed or on a large screen.
An accessible version for those using smaller screens or assistive technology is coming soon.
