CENTER FOR EXTENSION AND COMMUNITY ORIENTATION
P.K.R. Arts College for Women is providing a curriculum grounded in holistic learning—that emphasis students not only to think critically but also to make them economically independent and socially committed to the nation. Service to mankind is service to God. Our traditional outlook is to take care of others. Extension Activities are mainly aimed at enabling our student/volunteers to develop social and cultural responsibilities and learning by doing. Service attitude is essential for learner to flourish in the job. The activities of our college are planned systematically with an objective of obtaining smart solutions to problems of society by creating Social Awareness and Social Consciousness.  The college maintains its social cohesiveness through extended activities in the nearby community to sensitize students about social issues.
The college consistently promotes participation of students and faculty members in socio-friendly extension activities through various cells and activity centers. The objective of our institution is to develop students’ Emotional Quotient through their interaction with various challenges and hurdles faced by the people in the nearby community and encourage stakeholders to develop their positive attitude towards life. The main goal is community orientation  to empower the rural women by inculcating the core values of truth and righteousness by extra-curricular activities for their economic independence, social commitment and national development.
The focus of extension and community welfare is to make the nearby villages a better place to live. To achieve this goal various activities like health and hygiene awareness, recreational activities, interactive and participatory programmes, group working and group discussion are given to the students. Our college education/research/extension are based upon the basic human values to help individuals/families and community as a whole to lead a successful life in changing our neighbourhood society.
Our extension activities have multiple dimensions such as Curriculum Related Extension Activities, National Service Scheme, Youth Red Cross(YRC), Red Ribbon Club(RRC), Citizen Consumer Club(CCC), Unnat Bharat Abiyan, Swatch Bharath Abiyan, etc., As an essential academia, college is keen on promoting the participation of students and faculty in outreach and extension activities that are operative at different levels through the above units. The professional as well as life skill development of arts and science graduates is balanced through extension and outreach activities. Students go to the adopted villages to involve themselves in the field work thereby knowing the real conditions of the villagers.

This organization considers it to be the duty as an educational institution to instill knowledge and skills in our students while also cultivating social consciousness and humanity.
Objectives of ISR Cell
To establish a sense of social responsibility, morals, and environmental awareness among students
To cultivate moral, ethical, and social principles in students so that they can fulfill their social commitments and serve society through their actions
Functions of ISR Cell
To educate faculty and staff about their roles in societal development.
To organise training and awareness activities for underprivileged school students, orphanages, elderly people, etc.
To create educational initiatives based on need for underprivileged schoolchildren, orphanages, historical sites, etc.
To plan educational and awareness activities, charitable endeavors in cooperation with clubs and social organizations.
To carry out initiatives and plans for community development.
To organize and carry out projects for people with physical disabilities.

NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME (NSS)
The College is committed to carving out a generation who would take an active role in social activities. With this aim in view, extension services are made available to nearby schools, villages and communities. It is mandatory for a student to participate. The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Central Sector Scheme of Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. It provides opportunity to the Graduate & Post Graduate community to take part in various government led community service activities & programmes. The elite aim of the NSS is to provide hands on experience to young students in delivering community service.

The services rendered by NSS are various they are Health and Hygiene, Sanitation, Education, Environment Protection, Veterinary, and other services. NSS-PKR has the objective of “To identify the needs and problems of the community and involve them in problem solving process to uphold selfless service”. Regular programmes for Leadership Development, Eco-Development Camps, General Orientation and Special Orientation Programmes, Personality Development and Career Guidance are such activities given to the community in and around villages. Tree plantation, coordination with various activities of National celebrations like Republic day, Independence Day, First year induction day, Founders day, Special lectures in Life skill development etc., are regularly coordinated by our NSS volunteers. All State and Central Government activities
are carried out by our NSS volunteers. Different campaigns are organized to that schemes.

YOUTH RED CROSS
The Youth Red Cross (YRC) is one of the our community activity to the students to provide relief in times of disasters/emergencies and promotes health & care of the vulnerable people and communities.
OBJECTIVE OF YRC
To conduct social and health awareness programmes.
Awareness on their own health and to provide health awareness to others.
To encourage the students to extend their humanitarian services to the society like blood donation as and when the need arises.
To offer First Aid Training to all the YRC volunteers.
To develop leadership quality among the students.
To create awareness on Disaster Management
The understanding and acceptance of civic responsibilities and acting accordingly with humanitarian concern, to fulfill the same.
To promote voluntary blood donation among youth.
To motivate youth and build their capacity as peer educators and change agents by developing their skills on leadership, negotiation, and team building.
To counsel the students regarding the various preventives for their proper health.
