Collateral Recovery
Effective July 1, 2012, the Collateral Recovery Act,
225 ILCS 422/1 et seq.
became law. The purpose of the Act is to regulate individuals and entities engaged in the business of collateral recovery
in the State of Illinois. The Act gives the Illinois Commerce Commission the power to regulate repossession agencies and their
employees, managers or agents in accordance with the Act, and among other things, establish reasonable requirements with respect
to their business practices. In addition to the Collateral Recovery Act,
the Illinois Commerce Commission has adopted Administrative Rules,
92 Ill. Adm. Code 1480.10 et seq.
, which became effective June 1, 2012.
Recovery Tickets Available at Commission’s office in Des Plaines
Recovery Tickets can now be purchased at the Commission’s office located in Des Plaines at
9511 West Harrison
. Collateral recovery ticket may be purchased, at the Des Plaines office, by appointment only, which will be scheduled between 9:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. Please contact the Des Plaines office via phone at (847) 294-4326 or by e-mail at
ICC.Police-DesPlaines@illinois.gov
to make an appointment. Please note that Recovery Tickets purchased at this location must be paid for with a company check only. Cash and credit card payment will not be accepted.
