Sarah Christie is a Reader in Law at The Robert Gordon University. After graduating from Edinburgh University, she has specialised in teaching and supervising doctoral students in medical law and ethics, and criminal law for over 10 years. She has written extensively in both fields and is also currently a member of the North of Scotland Research Ethics Committee.
Dr Partha Gangopadhyay
Clinical Teaching Fellow University of Aberdeen and Specialty Registrar in Forensic Psychiatry
Partha is based in Foresterhill for his teaching fellow job and at the Blair Unit for his clinical attachment. He is currently pursuing a masters in medical law and ethics and is involved in the curriculum development for teaching medical ethics to the University of Aberdeen's medical undergraduates
Professor Neva Haites
Vice Principal and Head of College of Life Science and Medicine at the University of Aberdeen
Professor Neva Haites is Vice Principal and Head of College of Life Science and Medicine at the University of Aberdeen. She is also an Honorary Consultant in Clinical genetics, a member of the NHS Grampian Board and a member of the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA) where she is a member of the Ethics and Law Committee. She has a special interest in the Ethics and Regulation of developments in Science.
Dr Stuart Hannabuss
Stuart is an independent researcher and indexer, reviewer and musician. Until recently, he lectured and supervised research in information management, law and ethics and telecoms at the Aberdeen Business School, and was a Research Associate at Gray's School of Art working on cultural theory and aesthetics. He serves on the NHS Medical Research Ethics and Spiritual Care Committtees, and has a particular interest in convergences between medical practice and ethics, philosophy and theology. He is a member of Humanist Society Scotland.

Dr Gordon Linklater
Consultant in Palliative Medicine
Gordon is a consultant in Palliative Medicine based in Roxburghe House. He has a specific interest in the ethics of end-of-life decision making and has recently become responsible for the Medical Ethics and Law teaching for the University of Aberdeen's medical undergraduates.
Stephen Lynch
Stephen has been a GP at Calsayseat Medical Group for 21 years and a GP trainer for 15 years. His interest in medical ethics arose from his work in teaching ethical principles to both GP trainees and established GP Principals. He is currently Chairman of the NE Faculy of the Royal College of General Practitioners and member of the NHS Grampian GP Sub committee.
Mr Sam McClinton
Consultant Urologist
Sam McClinton trained in Dublin. He came to Aberdeen in 1986 and was appointed a consultant Urologist in 1993. He has a long-standing interest in medical ethics and was a member of the first Clinical Ethics Committee at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. Sam says, "I think the importance of medical ethics is underestimated by many of those who work in the health service and hope the work of the Grampian Clinical Ethics Committee will gradually change this."

Helen Morgan
Trained as an Enrolled nurse in 1979 then did further training in 1983 to become a Staff Nurse have worked in theatres since 1986, and have been involved in many specialities. My appetitie for Ethics was whetted whilst working in Emergency Theatre especially around areas of consent. I am currently working in Theatre 1 which specialises in Plastics, Breast and Reconstructive Surgery.
I feel that ethics is a field of expertise that the nursing profession is not widely exposed to and therefore unsure of who to approach if faced with ethical issues, hopefully with an increased exposure of the CEC that this may change.

Dr Sheila Simpson
Consultant in Clinical Genetics, and Senior Lecturer
Sheila chairs one of the two North of Scotland Research Ethics Committees, and has a long standing interest in Medical Ethics. This is partly related to her own specialty of Clinical Genetics (neurogenetics) where she have an interest in the psychosocial aspects of the practice of genetics. This field is also one of her areas of research. She also enjoyss being involved teaching medical colleagues and medical students about Research Ethics.
