Students Enjoy Hands-on Learning in Summer Youth Programs
Students, immerse yourselves in hands-on learning at Michigan Tech’s Summer Youth
Programs (SYP)! Each summer, nearly 1,000 middle and high school students from around
the world come to Michigan Technological University for week-long STEM, business,
and career explorations designed to help them discover college pathways and real-world
opportunities.
Get the Mini College Experience in Camp-like Summer Classes
During their week on campus, participants live in our full-service residence hall,
eat in the dining hall, and engage in an exploration of their choosing—from STEM and
engineering to business, the arts, and the humanities.
Outside the classroom, students unwind with supervised recreational activities and
take advantage of Lake Superior, waterfalls, hiking trails, and the natural beauty
of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
Join a Long Line of Curious Scholars
Since 1972, Summer Youth Programs (SYP) has inspired the next generation of doers
and makers through hands-on learning and collaboration with Michigan Tech faculty,
staff, and students.
