Since 2013, Kepler’s mission has been to create new pathways to employment for young people.
In January 2021, Kepler expanded to Ethiopia with a pilot program to tackle Africa’s growing youth unemployment challenge. The Graduate Employment Program (GEP) was launched in collaboration with two TVETs (Technical and Vocational Education (TVET) institutions in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
GEP aims to upskill unemployed graduates of TVETs with soft skills and job readiness skills before placing them in professional internships and jobs that are aligned with their technical training. Additionally, Kepler establishes partnerships with employers to support graduates' access to employment opportunities and get ongoing feedback to improve the curriculum. In Rwanda, Kepler has partner with Rwanda Polytechnic to train students through their eight colleges (IPRCs). Together with IPRC trainers, Kepler has trained 3,058 students with 100% being placed into an industrial attachment.
We plan to further expand GEP to reach over
TVET and University graduates by 2026

Employed or pursuing further education within twelve months of training completion
Kepler is preparing young Africans for the future of work with 21st-century
skills and new pathways to employment.
