Research and Development Cell
Jagan Nath University, Jaipur, is committed to fostering a strong research and innovation culture by actively engaging both students and faculty members. To facilitate this, we have established a dedicated Research and Development (R&D) Cell, which plays a pivotal role in identifying thrust areas, formulating research strategies, and ensuring the effective implementation of research initiatives.
Role and Responsibilities:
Oversee financial management and resource mobilization for research and development.
Create and manage a corpus fund exclusively for R&D activities.
Explore funding opportunities from government, industry, venture capitalists, and angel
investors. Establishes a corpus fund for R&D activities.
Liaises with funding agencies and explores venture capitalists and angel investors.
Manages the annual budget for research activities.

Role and Responsibilities:
Develops rules, regulations, and policy frameworks for resource utilization.
Integrates multiple functions to support institutional research.
Monitors and mentors research activities through various sub-committees.
Maintains close contact with the Ministry Innovation Cell for innovative plans.
Formulate and update research policies in alignment with NEP-2020 and university
objectives.
Organize workshops and training sessions to enhance the research skills of faculty and
students.
Contribute to the long-term strategic planning of the R&D Cell, aligning research
programs with emerging trends.
Encourage and facilitate interdisciplinary research initiatives across departments.
Identify thrust areas of research and propose cluster groups or consortia of researchers.
Establish mechanisms for recruitment, equipment procurement, and financial autonomy
for Principal Investigators.

Establish connections with existing well-known/established research and development
cells.
Facilitate networking and collaborative research initiatives.
Develops and sustains a research ecosystem for quality outcomes.

Strengthens resource sharing within the university and with external partners. Works
with the Dean (RDC) to facilitate the smooth functioning of research activities.
Reemploys or designates superannuated faculty/scientists with exceptional research

Engages distinguished faculties or research scientists for mentoring young talents.
Enhances the university's brand image and accreditation ranking through capacity
building.
Establishes and maintains Research Information Management System (RIMS) for
collecting and managing research-related data.
Provides a platform for accessing resource-centric information.
Creates a blog or portal for Institutional Research Information.
Organize forums, seminars, and conferences to share research findings and foster
collaboration among researchers.
Ensure that research activities contribute positively to society, addressing local and
global challenges.

Organizes capacity-building programs, workshops, and research internships.
Forms research clusters on Identified research thrust areas.
Facilitates strategic partnerships and collaborations with industries.
Supports technology transfer, commercialization, and incubation activities.
Formulates and adheres to quality benchmarks for research.
Provide support and resources for the development of innovative products and solutions.
Facilitate the incubation of start-ups emerging from university research, providing
mentorship and resources.
Work closely with the IPR Committee to protect and commercialize intellectual
property.
