Science in Action: 7th Graders Dive Into Biology
Learning came to life at KDS DAR Middle School  as Mr. Hammett’s 7th grade science classes participated in a hands-on frog dissection lab. While textbooks provide the theory, nothing compares to the tactile experience of a lab. DAR Middle Schoolers Earn High Marks in Fishing Tournament
Members of the DAR Patriots Middle School Fishing Club competed in a fishing tournament at Lake Martin in Alexander City alongside 75 other teams from across the state on March 14. The team of 8th grader Max Miller and 7th grader Case Frey placed 2nd in the tournament with five fish with a total combined weight of 10.38 lbs. Mythology Comes To Life in 6th Grade
At KDS DAR Middle School, learning isn’t just about reading from a textbook—it’s about bringing lessons to life. Sixth grade students stepped out of their comfort zones and into some truly engaging projects that combined literature, math, and a bit of friendly competition. KDS Students Receive Awards and Scholarships at ASDAR State Conference
KDS students were big winners during the Alabama Society DAR State Conference at the end of February. Two DAR Middle School students were state winners for the 2025-2026 DAR American History Essay Contest. This year's essay title was "Lunch with a Signer" .
