Marcus Wojtkowiak - Director

Marcus Wojtkowiak joins the Randall Museum as its new director with more than seventeen years of experience in museum programming and science education. His professional skills, educational background, and personal passion for nature-based science will lead the Randall Museum into its next chapter of creativity and discovery.
Marcus is a longtime Randall Museum employee who has held a wide range of roles, bringing a wealth of home grown experience to the Director role. From 2010-2018 Marcus served as the Randall Museum’s science program coordinator, in which he applied his creative enthusiasm to design and implement a wide range of science educational programs, exhibits and special events, along with coordinating the annual San Francisco Middle School Science Fair, and rejuvenating the Randall’s field trip program. Since 2017 Mr. Wojtkowiak has acted as the regional Golden Gate STEM Fair director, planning and executing the competition for more than 200 students annually.

Nick works as a curator in the live animal exhibit. He has a background in veterinary assisting and art which he happily incorporates in his daily task and projects at the Randall museum.
Sara Brown - Facility Coordinator

Sara loves connecting people to the natural world. For the past 10 years, they have worked in science education and community engagement around the Bay Area and beyond. She loves community driven and designed learning and is excited to learn more about the Randall Museum’s community. As a curious person, Sara seeks to inspire other’s curiosity about their surroundings. Her goal is to make the natural world more accessible to all. Katherine Galeas Veliz - Science and Nature Program Coordinator

Katherine is a San Francisco native who loves nature and teaching others about the wonderful world in which we live.
She started working as a Science Instructor at the Randall Museum in 2022. Katherine now oversees the Randall on the Road program, the museum’s field trip program, the Annual San Francisco Middle School Science Fair, and outreach events for staff. She welcomes meeting and interacting with the public.
As someone who loves learning and sharing knowledge with others, Katherine’s goal is to create programs and activities that foster and support a sense of community, increase accessibility, curiosity and a lifetime of learning. She looks forward to seeing you at the Randall.
Zach Lim - Live Animal Exhibit Manager

A born and raised San Francisco native, Zach Lim developed a love of all things nature at a young age while exploring places like Ocean Beach and Golden Gate Park. This passion for the natural world did not wane with age and led him towards a career working with animals, in particular, those species most misunderstood. Prior to his current position as a curator at the Randall Museum, Zach was a herpetologist at the Atlanta Botanical Garden rearing endangered frogs for reintroduction, and worked at the Fernbank Natural History Museum as an animal husbandry specialist and educator.
Dominik Mosur - Animal Care Attendant

Dom works full time in the Live Animal Exhibit caring for animals, educating the public, and helping supervise the teen animal volunteers. He also does live animal presentations and bird walks on Corona Heights. A few years ago he earned the distinction of having The Big Year – he spotted the most species of birds in San Francisco in a twelve month period.
Deirdre Visser - Curator of Applied Technology

Deirdre Visser joins the Randall Museum with more than two decades as a woodworker, arts educator, and curator. In her creative and professional lives she has consistently pursued opportunities to build community and nurture civic participation through the arts, particularly amplifying the work of emerging and underrepresented voices. Deirdre co-curated with Laura Mays the largest-ever exhibition of women woodworkers,
Making a Seat at the Table
, which opened at the Museum for Art in Wood in Philadelphia in late fall 2019. In 2022, with Craft Research Fund support, she published the first ever history of women and gender non-conforming makers in wood,
Joinery, Joists and Gender: A History of Woodworking for the 21st Century
. She continues to write at the intersection of labor history and wood.
