Albertus Magnus College Alumna Pays It Forward with $2 Million Gift
Commitment Continues Momentum for Launch of College’s Centennial Campaign
Karen Noetzel '78 and her husband Mark Noetzel
New Haven, Conn., August 6, 2025

Albertus Magnus College
is pleased to announce a $2 million gift commitment
from alumna  Karen Korzi Noetzel ’78 and her husband Mark. The Noetzels’ unrestricted
gift will support the College’s most pressing needs and  strategic initiatives. It
is also a blended gift — the combination of a current gift and a deferred estate gift
— which will have an  immediate impact on students’ lives while also continuing to
support Albertus’ mission long into the future.
“Karen and Mark Noetzel have made a transformative commitment and investment toward
the future of Albertus Magnus College  and in the students who will go on to make
a difference in the world,” said Albertus President Marc M. Camille, Ed.D. “Their
generosity and vision fill me with gratitude and inspiration and affirm what so many
of us know to be true — Albertus continues to  be an institution of higher learning
where students are taught, mentored, and supported to grow into their best selves
while not just
identifying, but ultimately being their distinct purpose.”
Approaching the start of its milestone Centennial Anniversary Year beginning in September,
Albertus Magnus is preparing for the  public launch of its largest and most ambitious
fundraising campaign in its history. The 2025-2026 academic year will mark the official
100
th
Anniversary for Albertus
,
with numerous events planned throughout the year to celebrate the College's legacy
of education
impact.
“Mark and I are committed to providing opportunities for eager students to learn and
grow at Albertus in an environment of  academic rigor shaped by Catholic values,”
said Karen Noetzel '78. “The Centennial Campaign ensures Albertus can continue to
offer  those opportunities. We have donated to the college every year for decades
but felt that the Centennial Campaign was an important
step forward and worthy of increased support. We hope others will join us in this
effort.”

About Albertus Magnus College
Founded in 1925, Albertus is a coeducational Catholic College in the Dominican tradition.
Albertus' values- and liberal arts-based education is recognized by external rankings
such as US News & World Report, Money, and The New York Times, and has been named
a Top 10 Military Friendly School. For ten consecutive years, at least 95% of Albertus
graduates have attained employment or gone on to graduate studies within six months
of completing their degrees. The College has an enrollment of approximately 1,300
students across its traditional undergraduate, accelerated adult undergraduate, and
graduate program levels. Proud to enroll a student body where nearly half of its undergraduate
students receive Federal Pell Grants and are first-generation college goers, Albertus
is known for its innovative curricular offerings, recently launching new Bachelor's
degree programs in Nursing, including BSN and Connecticut's first LPN-to-BSN; General
Health Sciences; Interdisciplinary Studies; and Public Health.
Among its graduate offerings is the State of Connecticut's only Master of Arts in
Art Therapy and Counseling program, and it is just one of three schools to offer a
Master of Science in Human Services. In 2025-26, Albertus is celebrating its historic
100th Anniversary and completing implementation of the Albertus 2025: Lighting the
Way to a Second Century strategic plan, with a bold vision to "be a destination liberal
arts-based college, distinguished in its interdisciplinary and experiential approach
to education, rooted in Dominican values, that prepares students for lifelong civic
engagement and success." To learn more, please visit
