If the financial aid process seems confusing, take heart, you are not alone. We are here both virtually and in-person to help make sure your financial concerns or complicated forms don’t slow you down.

Beginning with the 2026-27 academic year, some federal financial aid programs will change due to new federal legislation.

Prepare for Your Fall 2026 Bursar Bill
Fall 2026 semester bills will post to student accounts on July 1st. Approved financial aid will show as a credit under ‘anticipated aid’ if everything has been done for the aid to be applied.
To ensure your anticipated aid is credited to your account, accordingly, complete the following steps
before June 29th
:
Submit the
2026-27 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
– BGSU school code: 003018
Complete all ‘
Action Items
’ on your MyBGSU ‘
To Do List
’ and ‘
Holds

Officially accept student loans at
studentaid.gov
by completing both the
Entrance Counseling and Federal Direct Loan Master Promissory Note (MPN)
.
Submit any external (non-BGSU)
scholarship checks
to: The Office of the Bursar, 1001 E. Wooster Street, Bowling Green, OH 43403. Be sure to include the BGSU Id and sign any checks that are co-payable to the student and BGSU.
Register for fulltime
class load (graduate students = 8+crs; undergraduate students = 12+crs) OR let Student Financial Aid know if you will be attending parttime by submitting the 2026-27 Term Enrollment Reporting Form.
Complete these additional items
by July 15th
to have funds applied by the August 1 bill due date:
Apply for the 2026-27 Federal Direct Graduate or Parent PLUS Loan at
studentaid.gov
