African Statistics Day 2024
African Statistics Day is an annual event, celebrated on 18th November to raise public awareness of the importance of statistics in all areas of social and economic life.
National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) is proud to join the rest of the continent in celebrating this event under the theme, “Supporting education by modernizing the production of fit-for-purpose statistics”.
To commemorate the occasion, the NBS is happy to share with you interesting statistics each day throughout the week.
We invite the public to join the conversation online using

About the Bureau
In July 2010, the legal framework of the Bureau was recast and modernized and the National Statistics Bureau Act, 2005, was repealed to be replaced by the National Bureau of Statistics Act, 2010. The institution is now the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) and is headed by a Chief Executive Officer.
