Mater Private Hospital Townsville is located on Bindal and Wulgurukaba Country.
Mater Private Hospital Townsville relocated from West End to Fulham Road in 1962, and has expanded services to improve the health and wellbeing of North Queenslanders ever since.
Featuring 12 operating theatres, 167 private medical and surgical beds, 10 intensive care beds, 12 licensed overnight rehabilitation beds, eight paediatric beds, two endoscopy suites and two cardiac catheter laboratories, Mater Private Hospital Townsville completes more than 20,000 procedures annually.
Mater’s Pimlico campus specialises in orthopaedics, gastroenterology, general surgery, cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery, ear nose and throat surgery, urology, respiratory and sleep medicine, geriatric medicine, gynaecology, allied health, and more.
Our Pimlico campus is also home to Townsville’s only private emergency department, open 7.00am – 10.00pm 365 days a year, and a dedicated Clinical School in partnership with Mater Education and James Cook University – educating the healthcare workforce of the future.

Getting here/parking
The entrance to Mater’s Pimlico campus moved from Fulham Road to Diprose Street in 2020. Please make use of the multi-storey car park, and take your ticket with you – you will need to pay for your ticket prior to exiting the car park.

Visiting hours are 8am to 8pm, seven days a week. Rest period for patients is encouraged between 1.30pm to 3.30pm daily.
