Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Lindsay Wildlife Experience. Our more than 300 volunteers make it possible to provide life-saving care for wildlife patients and deliver educational programs to children and adults. Read about volunteer opportunities below.
Volunteer Opportunities
Wildlife Rehabilitation/Hospital (ages 18+)
Join our nationally-recognized wildlife rehabilitation team and learn how to care for orphaned and injured native California wildlife. This care includes:
Hand feeding baby birds and mammals
Cleaning enclosures
Washing dishes and laundry
Setting up enclosures
Releasing animals, and much more!

Wildlife Rehabilitation Volunteer Opportunities
Wildlife Educators (ages 18+)
Volunteers in Lindsay’s Education Department are called Wildlife Educators, and they are empowered to fulfill our mission in many ways. Upon completion of their hands-on and applied training, Wildlife Educators are ready to assist in the following areas:
School field trips:
student groups visit Lindsay Wildlife for a volunteer-guided experience
Exhibit Hall interpretation:
engage guests in presentations and animal encounters
Natural History:
prepare specimens for education programs and help maintain our collections

Education Volunteer Opportunities
Animal Husbandry Volunteer (ages 18+)
Work with our animal keeper team to assist with the daily care for the animals that call Lindsay home! This includes cleaning exhibits, preparing diets, raking, hosing, creating enrichment items, record keeping, animal training, and much more!
