Cystic fibrosis (CF) is an inherited disease that affects the lungs and digestive system. Kids who have the condition are more likely get lung infections. That's because it causes the lungs to produce thick, sticky mucus that clogs the airways. CF also affects the intestines and how the body digests and absorbs food.
At Nemours Children's, our CF care teams give children from birth to age 18 treatment and support at our certified CF Care Centers. We also offer the latest clinical trials for new medicines and therapies to help kids breathe easier and live better.
