Explore Alternative Education & Career Pathways
King’s Trade Training Centre (KTTC) provides two educational pathways for senior students. Your pathway options are dependent on your year level of entry. Students must select one of the following two pathways:
Sport Development Program
-
Years 11 and 12 students, who are passionate about sport and fitness, undertake a paid traineeship in a dedicated sports program, gaining real world experience in the sporting and coaching industry. Students immerse themselves in relevant qualifications, a Queensland Certification of Education (QCE) and diplomas in sport and business with the option of direct entry into pre-approved Bachelor degrees at university

Trade Training
- Years 10 to 12 students who are pursuing trade qualifications and hands-on industry experience can get a head start on their career and graduate with a Queensland Certification of Education (QCE).
Sport Development Program
KTTC’s new Sport Development Program is now open for enrolments. For students passionate about sports, the two year program (Year 11 and 12) provides an engaging blend of certificate and diploma qualifications, hands-on sport experiences and collaboration with industry experts.
Graduating students will be eligible for a Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) and have the skills and qualifications to commence work or undertake additional tertiary studies through direct entry to Gold Coast universities.
Sport Development Program students who complete the full two year program* will graduate with the following qualifications:
Certificate II Outdoor Recreation
Certificate III Fitness
Certificate III Sport, Aquatics and Recreation
Diploma of Sport
Diploma of Leadership and Management
*There will be an intake for both Year 11 and Year 12 students, depending on enrolment numbers.
Trade Training Pathways
Years 10 to 12 students can complete senior schooling in a relaxed school environment with the option to start earning money in their choice of trade.
Students attend KTTC five days a week, depending on their year level, to study Essential Mathematics and various Certificate courses.
Trade training students then attend trade specific training one day a week and up to two days in industry placement, either as work experience or a school-based apprenticeship/traineeship.
Trade Training students complete Year 12 with the following qualifications:
Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE)
Certificate II in Community Services
Certificate II in Work Place Skills (Business)
Certificate II in Hospitality
Diploma of Social Media Marketing
Certificate II in their chosen trade
Commencement of a Certificate III in a school-based apprenticeship/traineeship in their chosen field, with the strong possibility of going straight into employment.
