Lourdes offers many different kinds of student activities each semester to complement the educational experience. Most Thursday evenings, events such as Wings & Sings, Movie Nights, Road trips, Late-night breakfasts, dances, performing artists, and much more are offered. Most of these events are free to Lourdes students, and all are planned and coordinated by fellow students. LEAP is a student group that focuses on planning, coordinating, and promoting Student Activities on campus. LEAP works with other students to gain leadership experience, event planning skills and bring their creative vision to campus.

The LEAP team will hold monthly meetings open to the student body so as to hear suggestions, feedback, and ideas.

About Student Organizations
Lourdes University student organizations are an important aspect of the college experience providing opportunities to meet peers, gain knowledge, and develop skills. Student organizations are created for students by students. Types of organizations range from academic/honor societies to social interest and student leadership, sure to include something for everyone. Visit the list below of the current student organizations and we welcome you to reach out to them. If there is an organization that Lourdes does not currently offer, it is very simple to create a new one.
All student organizations are governed by the Student Government Association (SGA). SGA is available to help students create, run and lead organizations. Be sure to connect with SGA as you get involved on campus.
STARTING A NEW STUDENT ORGANIZATION
Requirements:
A new student organization cannot duplicate or mimic an existing registered student organization (RSO).
You must be a student currently enrolled at Lourdes.
Have three (3) students interested in becoming members of your organization before it starts. Some of these members must also be interested in serving on an executive board composed of a president, vice president.
All registered student organizations must have one Lourdes University faculty or staff advisor.
Application Process:
To become a new student organization at Lourdes University, student representatives must go through our application process. This application process is open all year long.

Step 2: Once the application has been approved, the student organization and representative will be added to the university website and will learn about the universities policies, procedures, and benefits of being a registered student organization.

The purpose of the Alpha Zeta Kappa Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi shall be to promote excellence in and recognition of outstanding contributions to education. Lourdes Events & Activities Planning (LEAP) is the official student programming board for Lourdes University. Ohio Innocence Project
Prevent Wrongful Conviction by promoting awareness of its existence on College Campuses and to generate student and community support for the Ohio Innocence Project, and its efforts to remedy Wrongful Convictions. Host events designed to educate college students and the general public about Wrongful Conviction and its occurrence. Recruit members with a shared interest in the matter who wish to learn more about it. Hold meetings for members to discuss involvement in the organization and organizational activities. Support and promote the efforts of the Ohio Innocence Project through social media and campus media outlets. Host an annual event in October commemorating International Wrongful Conviction Day. Host, at minimum, ONE other educational event during the academic school year to generate interest in the topic of Wrongful Conviction among university students and the public, and to foster the growth of the associated student group. Examples of events: panel discussions, documentary film screenings, speaking engagements, and demonstrations. Designate representatives to attend the annual OIP-u Conference organized by the Ohio Innocence Project and held at the University of Cincinnati Law School in Cincinnati, Ohio, along with representatives from the Lourdes LIFE program.

It is our mission is to provide an awareness of art therapy as a substantial and genuine health profession that uses the process of art making to better the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of all individuals.

Prism
Prism gives members of the LGBTQA community and their allies a chance to have a voice in the Lourdes University community. Come and help us create opportunities for sharing, educating and supporting one another as well as welcoming those who just want to understand.
The group focuses on building an awareness of and dispelling stereotypes that revolve around the LGBTQA community. We hope to use honest and open discussions to eliminate any hateful, prejudicial or discriminating beliefs, attitudes or actions held against any individual based on his or her sexual orientation, gender identity or personal beliefs about sexual orientation/identity. Straight allies who want to learn more and support the group are also welcome.

Recreational Sports
Rec Sports provide students an opportunity to get involved in non-varsity athletic activities on campus in a friendly and fun environment. Tournaments and competitions are organized by students for all students to enjoy. Programs include yard games, basketball, volleyball, dodgeball, flag football and more. Established in 1976, Theta Alpha Kappa is the national honor society for theology and religious studies. It is dedicated to recognizing and encouraging academic excellence in undergraduate and graduate students and in scholars in those fields. The Greek letters appropriately stand for theos (God), anthropos (human person) and koinonia (communion). The local chapter at Lourdes University, Alpha Alpha Theta, was established in 1984.

Student Engagement
An important part of the student experience at Lourdes is the opportunity to participate a variety of student activities. These events are hosted throughout the day and week to accommodate busy student schedules. The University offers annual and traditional events such as Wings & Sings, Late-Night Breakfast, the End-of-the-Year Raffle, Farewell Festival, and much more. Most of these events are free to Lourdes University students. A student programming board called LEAP (Lourdes Events and Activities Planning) plans and coordinates the campus wide events. The group welcomes volunteers and suggestions for activities. For more information about meetings, upcoming events, and how you can get involved, please contact leap@ lourdes.edu.
CAMPUS EVENTS POLICY
In an attempt to actively engage all students at Lourdes University, both traditional and non- traditional, Lourdes holds many activities and events throughout the year.
Campus events that begin before 7:00 p.m. are generally open to students and their immediate families. Lourdes defines immediate family for this purpose as significant other, children, and legal dependents. Students who bring their own children or dependents to these events are expected to keep them in their presence and under a reasonable amount of control. If an event starting before 7:00 is not open to families, it will be advertised as such.
Campus events that begin at 7 p.m. or later are normally restricted to students and one guest, who must be at least 16 years of age. Lourdes faculty and staff reserve the right to dismiss guests of students that are unruly or disrespectful. If a student brings a guest to any Lourdes event, that guest must be in the presence of the student at all times while at the event. The Lourdes student is responsible for any damage that may be caused by their guest.
When food or refreshments are served at a Lourdes campus event, all food must stay within the event location, removing food from the location is prohibited. Students attempting to take food away may be asked to leave from the event.
Lourdes University does not condone the consumption of alcohol by any person under the legal age of 21 years old. For students, alumni, and/or attendees over the age of 21 years old, the consumption of alcoholic beverages or substances is not permitted on LEAP sponsored trips. The University cannot be held responsible for any actions that occur while under the influence, and with this in mind, there is no consumption allowed by any student, guest or chaperones.
For the purpose of this policy, athletic events are considered public and as such are open to the Lourdes Community including children and other dependents. As with other events, children are required to be under the direct supervision of their parent or guardian while at athletic events.

RECREATION
Student Activities and Athletics offer a wide variety of recreational and fitness opportunities on campus. Most programs are offered at no charge to students unless noted. Activities available are: Basketball, flag football, volleyball, fitness classes, and tournaments.
Many of these activities are held in the Russell J. Ebeid Recreational Center. The facility also houses a Fitness Center, which includes treadmills, elliptical machines, stationary bicycles, weight machines and Olympic free weights. The gym and fitness center are open seven days a week.
Interest in activities and questions should be directed to the Athletic Director at 419-824-3897.
STUDENT CENTER AND STUDENT LOUNGE
The Ebeid Student Center is located in the lower level of Ebeid Hall. A pool table, a ping pong table and a wide-screen TV are available for student use. The Student Lounge is located in the lower level of St. Francis Hall. Both locations provide students with comfortable seating to meet and socialize or have small study group sessions. All students are invited to make full, regular use of the Center, the Lounge, and the Planetarium lobby, which is located in the center of Mother Adelaide Hall adjacent to the Appold Planetarium.

About Student Organizations
Lourdes University student organizations are an important aspect of the college experience providing opportunities to meet peers, gain knowledge, and develop skills. Student organizations are created for students by students. Types of organizations range from academic/honor societies to social interest and student leadership, sure to include something for everyone. Visit the list below of the current student organizations and we welcome you to reach out to them. If there is an organization that Lourdes does not currently offer, it is very simple to create a new one.
All student organizations are governed by the Student Government Association (SGA). SGA is available to help students create, run and lead organizations. Be sure to connect with SGA as you get involved on campus.
STARTING A NEW STUDENT ORGANIZATION
Requirements:
A new student organization cannot duplicate or mimic an existing registered student organization (RSO).
You must be a student currently enrolled at Lourdes.
Have three (3) students interested in becoming members of your organization before it starts. Some of these members must also be interested in serving on an executive board composed of a president, vice president.
All registered student organizations must have one Lourdes University faculty or staff advisor.
Application Process:
To become a new student organization at Lourdes University, student representatives must go through our application process. This application process is open all year long.

Ohio Innocence Project
Prevent Wrongful Conviction by promoting awareness of its existence on College Campuses and to generate student and community support for the Ohio Innocence Project, and its efforts to remedy Wrongful Convictions. Host events designed to educate college students and the general public about Wrongful Conviction and its occurrence. Recruit members with a shared interest in the matter who wish to learn more about it. Hold meetings for members to discuss involvement in the organization and organizational activities. Support and promote the efforts of the Ohio Innocence Project through social media and campus media outlets. Host an annual event in October commemorating International Wrongful Conviction Day. Host, at minimum, ONE other educational event during the academic school year to generate interest in the topic of Wrongful Conviction among university students and the public, and to foster the growth of the associated student group. Examples of events: panel discussions, documentary film screenings, speaking engagements, and demonstrations. Designate representatives to attend the annual OIP-u Conference organized by the Ohio Innocence Project and held at the University of Cincinnati Law School in Cincinnati, Ohio, along with representatives from the Lourdes LIFE program.

Prism
Prism gives members of the LGBTQA community and their allies a chance to have a voice in the Lourdes University community. Come and help us create opportunities for sharing, educating and supporting one another as well as welcoming those who just want to understand.
The group focuses on building an awareness of and dispelling stereotypes that revolve around the LGBTQA community. We hope to use honest and open discussions to eliminate any hateful, prejudicial or discriminating beliefs, attitudes or actions held against any individual based on his or her sexual orientation, gender identity or personal beliefs about sexual orientation/identity. Straight allies who want to learn more and support the group are also welcome.

Student Engagement
An important part of the student experience at Lourdes is the opportunity to participate a variety of student activities. These events are hosted throughout the day and week to accommodate busy student schedules. The University offers annual and traditional events such as Wings & Sings, Late-Night Breakfast, the End-of-the-Year Raffle, Farewell Festival, and much more. Most of these events are free to Lourdes University students. A student programming board called LEAP (Lourdes Events and Activities Planning) plans and coordinates the campus wide events. CAMPUS EVENTS POLICY
In an attempt to actively engage all students at Lourdes University, both traditional and non- traditional, Lourdes holds many activities and events throughout the year.
Campus events that begin before 7:00 p.m. are generally open to students and their immediate families. Lourdes defines immediate family for this purpose as significant other, children, and legal dependents. Students who bring their own children or dependents to these events are expected to keep them in their presence and under a reasonable amount of control. If an event starting before 7:00 is not open to families, it will be advertised as such.
Campus events that begin at 7 p.m. or later are normally restricted to students and one guest, who must be at least 16 years of age. Lourdes faculty and staff reserve the right to dismiss guests of students that are unruly or disrespectful. If a student brings a guest to any Lourdes event, that guest must be in the presence of the student at all times while at the event. The Lourdes student is responsible for any damage that may be caused by their guest.
When food or refreshments are served at a Lourdes campus event, all food must stay within the event location, removing food from the location is prohibited. Students attempting to take food away may be asked to leave from the event.
Lourdes University does not condone the consumption of alcohol by any person under the legal age of 21 years old. For students, alumni, and/or attendees over the age of 21 years old, the consumption of alcoholic beverages or substances is not permitted on LEAP sponsored trips. The University cannot be held responsible for any actions that occur while under the influence, and with this in mind, there is no consumption allowed by any student, guest or chaperones.
For the purpose of this policy, athletic events are considered public and as such are open to the Lourdes Community including children and other dependents. As with other events, children are required to be under the direct supervision of their parent or guardian while at athletic events.

RECREATION
Student Activities and Athletics offer a wide variety of recreational and fitness opportunities on campus. Most programs are offered at no charge to students unless noted. Activities available are: Basketball, flag football, volleyball, fitness classes, and tournaments.
Many of these activities are held in the Russell J. Ebeid Recreational Center. The facility also houses a Fitness Center, which includes treadmills, elliptical machines, stationary bicycles, weight machines and Olympic free weights. The gym and fitness center are open seven days a week.

STUDENT CENTER AND STUDENT LOUNGE
The Ebeid Student Center is located in the lower level of Ebeid Hall. A pool table, a ping pong table and a wide-screen TV are available for student use. The Student Lounge is located in the lower level of St. Francis Hall. Both locations provide students with comfortable seating to meet and socialize or have small study group sessions. All students are invited to make full, regular use of the Center, the Lounge, and the Planetarium lobby, which is located in the center of Mother Adelaide Hall adjacent to the Appold Planetarium.
