Community and Neighborhood Resources has experienced staff that can facilitate and provide technical assistance for individuals, neighborhoods, and community organizations in the on-going development of skills to create an atmosphere of inclusion for the diverse community of people who live, work and visit Longmont.
Assistance can be provided in a variety of ways to help with cultural conflict between neighbors, neighborhoods, and community groups. Mediation or a facilitated discussion can also be provided to open the lines of communication and begin to build a respectful understanding of differences and similarities. For additional information, please call (303) 651-8444.
The Neighborhood Group Leaders Association consists of representatives from each of Longmont’s registered neighborhood groups. There are currently over 50 Longmont neighborhoods actively participating in the Association. The Neighborhood Group Leaders Association was formed to enhance communication between neighborhood groups and the City of Longmont. Neighborhood group leaders meet monthly to identify concerns, discuss issues and resolve conflicts.
All neighborhood groups that are registered with the City of Longmont participate in the program. These registered neighborhood groups are eligible to apply for grants for funding of neighborhood improvement projects and neighborhood activities. Neighborhoods have used these funds for neighborhood defined projects ranging from entryway signage to playground equipment. The City will also print neighborhood communications, such as newsletters, meeting notices and minutes for registered neighborhood groups.

The City of Longmont’s Community and Neighborhood Resources Program encourages neighborhoods to plan events and activities that will help build and strengthen relationships among neighbors. Community and Neighborhood Resources supports activities organized by neighborhood groups planning events such as meetings, picnics, block parties, skill-building events, neighborhood networking events, and neighborhood outreach.
Neighborhoods registered with the City of Longmont can apply for funds to help offset the costs of neighborhood events and activities through a Neighborhood Activities Grant. If you would like to get to know your neighbors that live on your block, check out the Discover Neighbors – Discover Home grants.
