As a regional referral center, Kootenai Health offers state-of-the art surgical services including robotic surgery and open heart surgery. Patients can rest assured when getting care at Kootenai Health that they will be expertly cared for by specially trained nurses, surgeons and technicians to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Kootenai Health recently underwent an extensive master-facility upgrade and now features eleven operating suites, including two hybrid operating rooms— a specialized surgical theatre equipped with advanced medical imaging devices.
Kootenai Health’s surgical services program also includes pre-operative and post-operative units to care for patients before and after procedures.
We are proud to be a Level III Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons on Trauma as well as a Level II Trauma Center by the State of Idaho Time Sensitive Emergency. To maintain these designations Kootenai had to provide it has the hospital resoruces needed for trauma care at all times.
Center of Excellence for Hip and Knee Replacement by DNV GL Healthcare
This certification recognizes excellence in orthopedic surgery within the scope of hip and knee replacement surgery. It means Kootenai Health has demonstrated an exemplary level of care and adherence to practice standards set by the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.
