Preparing you for careers in the health care industry.
Overview
The demand for well-educated health care managers and other allied health professionals is on the rise.
McPherson College’s Health Science program offers majors in Health Science and Healthcare Management for students interested in areas of movement science, allied health, public & community health, and healthcare management.
Students will have the opportunity to discover their career path through various field placements.
NEW: Nursing Program
Now you can get your BSN through McPherson & KU-Salina.
In the first two years of the program you’ll take prerequisite nursing courses at the McPherson College campus. You will then be eligible for guaranteed admissions into the University of Kansas Nursing program and complete the remaining two years of nursing courses at the KU-Salina campus and online, while remaining at McPherson College. The bachelors degree (BSN) will be awarded by the University of Kansas.

Health Professions Scholarship
Each year McPherson College will select up to
3 incoming students to receive a full-tuition scholarship and 9 additional students to receive a $5,000 scholarship
on top of their Merit Award. Health Professions Scholars will commit to participating in the development of signature outreach programs with McPherson Hospital and the community and will be guaranteed one internship per year.
Grad School Partners
McPherson College’s partnership with the KU School of Medicine provides students with experiential, service, and research learning opportunities including access to KU School of Medicine’s Rural Scholars and Urban Scholars programs.
Our partnership with Kansas State University allows eligible McPherson College undergraduates to take graduate-level courses online at K-State that can count toward both their bachelor’s degree at McPherson College and a master’s degree at K-State in either Kinesiology or Public Health.

The Health Science major is ideal for students interested in pursuing health care careers in a variety of settings. The major offers three additional areas of emphasis for students interested in movement science, allied health, and public & community health.
Healthcare Management
A major in Healthcare Management prepares students for a career in planning, directing, or coordinating medical and health services in hospitals, clinics, managed care organizations, public health agencies, or similar organizations.
