Bedrooms we offer
Overview
Our self-catered accommodation with shared bathroom and kitchen facilities is located close to the University’s two libraries: Robinson Library and Marjorie Robinson Library. Here, we offer single occupancy small rooms and standard rooms, as well as one flat (suitable for couples) with a minimum stay period of 14 nights, and a maximum stay of 12 months.
Employees of the University are given priority for this type of accommodation.

Reception doors are open Monday to Friday, 08.30 – 17.45 and the Customer Services team can also be contacted by telephone and email from 08.00 – 18.00.
Public transport information
By Metro
Jesmond and Haymarket Metro stations are both a short walk away.
There are Metro trains every five minutes during the day, to and from both these stations, into Newcastle city centre.
Windsor Terrace is within five minutes’ walk of the city centre where there are buses, Metros, and trains to local and national locations.
By bus
For bus times and fares refer to Nexus Travel Line or contact them by telephone on 0871 200 2233.
Calls to this number will cost 10 pence a minute from a landline and considerably more from a mobile.
By train
From Newcastle Central Station you can take the Metro directly to Haymarket (three stops) or Jesmond (four stops).
Taxis are also available from the Central Station.
By Air
Newcastle International Airport is only seven miles northwest of Newcastle University.
A taxi from the Airport will take about 15 minutes, costing approximately £15.
You can also travel by Metro from Jesmond or Haymarket stations which will take approximately 20–25 minutes.
‌Key points and facilities
Accommodation options are spread out across three floors in three buildings. There are 14 small bedrooms, 15 standard bedrooms and one self-contained flat (suitable for couples). Each floor has a shared bathroom.
This residence is self-catered with residents having access to a shared kitchen (with the exception of the self-contained flat which has its own private kitchen). Kitchens have a dining table and chairs, a television, cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer, kettle, toaster, iron and ironing board. We also supply crockery, cutlery, and kitchen equipment.
Guests are responsible for cleaning their own room, although shared areas will be cleaned by our team weekly. Rooms will be made up for arrival, with bedding and towels provided and can be laundered by guests during their stay by using the onsite laundrette (chargable).
Small and standard bedrooms
There are 14 small bedrooms and 15 standard bedrooms available. Guests share a kitchen/diner and bathroom facilities. Each bedroom combines a sleep/study space, including a bed, wardrobe, drawers, bedside table, desk, chair, and easy chair.
Flat
Windsor Place has one self-contained flat (suitable for couples), where guests have their own kitchen, bathroom, living room and bedroom.

Rooms will be made up for arrival and guests are responsible for their own cleaning. Bedding and towels can be laundered by the guest during their stay by using the onsite laundrette.
