How to Calculate GPA
LSU of Alexandria reports official enrollment information on a regular basis to the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC), a national database of student enrollment and degree information. All lenders (banks, student loan associations, Campus Partners, Sally Mae, etc.) are able to and must obtain student enrollment and deferment eligibility information by accessing the
NSC website
In addition to lenders we require that employers and background screening firms contact the Clearinghouse for verification of student enrollment and/or degree. The Clearinghouse does charge a fee.
Enrollment Verification
Each month throughout a semester, LSU of Alexandria reports student enrollment verifications to the NSC database for every enrolled student who has paid his/her semester tuition bill. These reports are submitted on a regular basis during the semester, and this information does not require any action from the student once they have officially paid/confirmed for the current semester. The enrollment data is available for authorized lenders, insurance companies, employers, and students to access.
Please note that all verifications will only be processed once your semester tuition bill is paid or you have made a payment plan with student accounts.
If you have a form that needs to be completed by the Registrar’s Office for medical insurance, good student discount, etc., please be sure that your LSUA ID# is on the form and your signature.
If you are in need of a letter verifying your enrollment or Degree, please complete the enrollment/degree verification form and submit to the Registrar’s Office.
Full-time status is certified by the following policy:
Full-time undergraduate students = 12 or more semester hours
Half-time undergraduate students = 6-11 semester hours
Less than half-time undergraduate students = Fewer than 6 semester hours
Degree Verifications
The Office of the Registrar reports all degrees awarded at the end of each academic semester to the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC). All lenders, employers, and recruitment agencies are able to and must obtain student degree information by accessing the
NSC website
What is an Apostille? An "apostille" is a form of authentication issued for documents that will be used in countries that participate in the Hague Convention of 1961. The US State Department provides a list of countries that accept apostilles. If the country where the documents will be used does not participate in the Hague Convention, those documents can be "authenticated" or "certified."
Louisiana State University of Alexandria will assist in the process for apostille or certification for diplomas and transcripts per the rules of the Hague Convention Number 12 and in coordination with the
Secretary of State (SOS)
based upon the student's written request.
The Office of the Registrar must receive the items outlined below to complete a document authentication/certification request. All items should be mailed to The Office of the Registrar, 8100 Hwy 71 South, Alexandria, LA 71302.
A written and signed request for document authentication/certification from the student, which includes the following information:
Student’s full name at the time of graduation
Degree earned
Term and year of graduation, if appropriate
Current contact information
Whether a duplicate hard copy diploma is being requested
Whether a transcript is being requested
Country to which the documents will be sent
Whether or not the receiving country is a member of the Hague Conference,
If you are not supplying the diploma, please include a fee of $25.00 for printing a duplicate certificate. Please only send checks or money orders in U.S. Funds made out to LSUA.
If you require a transcript for authentication or certification, please include a fee of $7.00. Please only send checks or money orders in U.S. Funds made out to LSUA.
If both are needed, please send the appropriate amount of $32.00 in check or money order only in US Funds made out to LSUA.
Please refer to the
Secretary of State's website
for a complete list of their steps and requirements.
Processing time for Apostille/Certification may take 2-3 weeks.
