Rides for your recovery
NEC Connect is a free transportation service for individuals in recovery. Access to consistent transportation is shown to:
Improve outcomes through attendance and successful completion recovery programs.
Reduce recidivism, which is the likelihood that convicted individuals will reoffend.
Who can get a ride?
NEC Connect is currently funded through a partnership with DeKalb County and the Indiana Division of Mental Health and Addiction, using Opioid Settlement Funds. Based on the grant requirements,
all riders must meet both of the criteria below:
1. Self-identify as having substance use disorder, which can include addiction to:
Tobacco.
Alcohol.
Other substances
.
2. Have an affiliation with DeKalb County, which includes those who:
Live or work in the county.
Are on probation or involved with the court system in the county.
Receive services in the county.
Are currently unhoused, with last known residence in the county.

Rides are available Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. NEC Connect can transport riders anywhere (within Indiana) that supports recovery, such as: t

because NEC Connect may occasionally cancel due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

t is recommended that all riders have a backup plan.

Transportation Guide
As a community mental health center, Northeastern Center provides comprehensive mental health services, including outpatient therapy and medication management, substance use treatment, adult residential homes, inpatient services, 24/7 crisis services and more. With 12 locations across DeKalb, LaGrange, Noble and Steuben counties, it has served northeast Indiana since 1977.
No person shall, on the grounds of race, religion, sex, age, disability, national origin, ancestry, veterans status, ability to pay, GINA, gender identity or sexual orientation be excluded from participating in, be denied the benefit of, or be otherwise subjected to discrimination under any program or activity of Northeastern Center, Inc. A discounted/sliding fee schedule is available based on family size and income.
