Rent Adjustments
When you change rooms the contract for your original room will end when your new one begins. The new contract will only include the accommodation costs for the newly assigned room - it will not take into account payments made under the previous contract. Your account will still include any charges from a previous contract in addition to the charges for the new room.
If you would like a breakdown of all charges you can request a statement.
Additional charges and refunds
If you have paid in full for your first room and the new room has a higher rent, there will be additional fees to pay.
If the new room has a lower rent and you have paid in full, you will be eligible for a refund. To initiate the refund process, you will need to download and complete the
Refund Request Form
Direct debit
If you are making payments through direct debit, your rent account will automatically be adjusted to account for both rooms and any payments already made. A revised Advance Payment Notice will be sent to you with a clearly stated date for payment collection.
The Advance Payment Notice will be sent to your parents directly if they are in charge of paying the direct debit fees. There is no need to inform your bank of the changes.
Termly invoices
If you pay your rent after receiving an invoice, and you have moved to a room with a higher rent, we will send you a revised invoice for the additional fees. You will receive the invoice within 14 days of moving rooms, and the remaining termly invoices will be sent out as usual.
If your new room has a lower rent, any overpayment will be deducted from your next term's billing. If the final payment has been made and you are entitled to a refund, you will need to download and complete the
Refund Request Form
Your questions answered
What do I do if my parents provide funds to cover the fees via my bank account?
If your parents provide funds to cover the fees via your bank account, the agreement will be in your name. We recommend that you send your parents a copy of the Advance Payment Notice so they are aware of the funds required.
Why would my rent be adjusted?
A rent adjustment is necessary when you transfer or swap rooms. If the new room has a higher rent than your previous room, you will need to pay additional fees. If the new room has a lower rent, you may be eligible for a refund.
