At Career & Professional Development (CPD), we believe career growth is a cornerstone of leadership development. Our team is passionate about helping students find work that is meaningful to them and aligns with their passions, talents and goals — work that creates a positive impact in the world. With programs and services available at both the Chalon and Doheny campuses, CPD offers personalized career coaching, engaging workshops and connections with recruiters and industry professionals. Unlike most universities, CPD provides career coaching for up to five years after graduation, ensuring students are supported well beyond their time at the Mount.

It is always worth stopping by to connect with someone and showcase who you are. The most helpful thing was that I learned you can have administrative healthcare roles in not just traditional healthcare facilities.

Fall 2023
I learned about a lot of internship opportunities and jobs that would work well in a healthcare based résumé. I now have many resources for future reference when I need to look into job and internship opportunities.

Fall 2023
I had questions of what made students stand out and got great input of what they are looking out for. I also learned about resources that nurses have while working in a certain hospital and more information on new grade residency programs.

Explore industries, meet mentors and expand your network through special events
Beyond providing professional services, CPD curates special programs to help inspire students and recent alumni and connect them with industry leaders. No matter your goals, we’re here to help you discover new possibilities and advance toward your unique goals.
Throughout the year, we organize externships, one-day concentrated programs that allow students to experience various aspects of a business or industry. These immersive opportunities bring together experts, thought leaders and influencers from across different fields. Externships typically include an employer site tour, company or industry overview, networking with company representatives and a skill-building activity. Previous externships included the HOPE Young Professionals Summit, Black to the Future (a technology and entertainment conference), a visit to Screen Engine/ASI (a leading entertainment marketing research firm) and more.
Meet companies, organizations and graduate programs eager to recruit unstoppable students and alumni at one of our career & internship fairs or graduate school fairs! Discover your next opportunity to gain experience or the right program to advance your education. Offered in both Fall and Spring, these fairs serve as a chance to engage directly with and learn from industry professionals or graduate admissions counselors.
Gain confidence and build connections with industry professionals, experts and alumni at our annual networking and industry events. These programs vary year-to-year and in the past have included a nursing mentor night, an entertainment networking workshop at the Mount’s Hollywood Studio, a business leadership speaker series, a post-graduate service panel and many more diverse industry events.
Balance your academic studies with part-time on-campus work experience. Our team supports students and supervisors through every step of the student employment process, empowering students to develop personal and professional skills they carry forward into their careers. These roles not only build valuable skills and career experience but also strengthen the students’ connection to the Mount’s vibrant community.
