Vandiperiyar “The Land of Mist” is really God's own country. Govt. Polytechnic College is one of the esteemed institutions in this area , situated in Idukki district at a distance of 5 Kilometer from the Vandiperiyar 10kms from Kumily town and 100kms from Kottayam railway station. Even though it is a remote area, all its geographical limitations are suppressed by the beauty of nature and its calmness.
Vandiperiyar is a place with people of mixed culture since it is the border of Kerala and Tamilnadu. Both Tamil and Keralite culture is seen here and people are living in harmony....
