Registration has opened for the 2026 Gear Up Virtual Workshop on April 30 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM!
This event is open to the public, so anyone with any interest or knowledge level is encouraged to register!
Registration is now open for the Summer Session of the Marine Naturalist Training Program!
Our Spring Session is now full, but we still have spots open for the hybrid Summer Session, with virtual classes from July 7 to July 11, and optional in-person field trips from July 24 to July 26.

In the Pacific Northwest of the United States lives the
Southern Resident Community of Orcas
, an endangered population of orcas, sometimes known as "killer whales".
The Whale Museum, located in beautiful Friday Harbor, Washington, opened to the public in 1979 as the
first
museum in the country devoted to a species living in the wild. Today, our museum continues to promote stewardship of whales and the Salish Sea ecosystem through education and research.

The Whale Museum is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization registered with the Secretary of State in Olympia, Washington.
We acknowledge that The Whale Museum, and program operations affiliated with The Whale Museum, are situated on the ancestral homelands and waters of the Coast Salish Peoples who have called this place home since time immemorial. We aim to acknowledge and respect Indigenous cultures in our museum exhibits and educational programs.
