About the Macomb County Historical Society
The Crocker House Museum & Gardens is managed by the Macomb County Historical Society. The Society maintains the building, which was built in 1869, and grounds and provides historic programs throughout the year that help fund the maintenance. We do not receive any public funds and depend on donations and membership for our existence.
While visiting our museum, you'll step back in time to the late 1800s, when Mount Clemens was world-famous for its healing mineral baths. Learn about the Crocker family and their domestic servants' daily life in period-furnished rooms, and see exhibits about Mount Clemens' history and industries. While you're here, be sure to visit the gift shop, where you'll find items like tea, decor, locally-made products, history books, and crafts by our volunteer craft group, and stroll through the gardens behind the house.
