Child Safety Review
Child safety reforms are now in force. These reforms strengthen the National Law and Regulations, introduce new offences and penalties, and expand regulatory powers.
Approved Providers must enter workforce information into the new National Early Childhood Worker Register by late March 2026. Child safety and child protection training must be completed by late August 2026.

National registers
The national registers contain information about approved education and care services and providers. These registers are updated daily from data held in the National Quality Agenda IT System.
Information for families
StartingBlocks.gov.au is Australia's free government website for families and communities to find and compare all children's education and care services by quality ratings, fees, vacancies & inclusions.
Continuous quality improvement in children’s education and care services
The latest NQF Snapshot released today demonstrates this occurring with 92% of services rated Meeting National Quality Standard (NQS) or above for the first time.
