NATIONAL PROJECT FOR BOVINE BREEDING
With a view to cover the entire breedable cattle of the state through AI programme, using frozen semen, the Government of India is Sponsoring National Project for Bovine Breeding
GOAT BREEDING CENTRE
The major proportion of the goat population in Kerala belong to Malabari breed and is well adapted to the agro-climatic conditions of the State. As a part of the diversification programme, the Board, during the year 1990-91, started a pilot project on goats at Kulathupuzha.
FODDER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME
The importance of proper feeding in economic dairy farming need not be over – emphasized. The Board had taken up fodder development as one of the most important activities right from the very beginning
FROZEN SEMEN MANAGEMENT
The State has evolved a three-tier Artificial Insemination (A.I.) management system to provide the inputs for cattle breeding namely Bull Stations , Regional Semen Banks (RSB), Artificial Insemination Centres.
SIRE SELECTION PROGRAMME
With the objective of identifying the most suitable bulls as the sires for the next generation, the KLDB ventured into the field progeny-testing programme involving the two basic tasks viz.,
EMBRYO TRANSFER PROGRAMME
Multiple Ovulation Embryo Transfer (MOET) was introduced for production of superior sires. Under this technology, the genetic quality of the elite cows is utilized for the production of next generation bulls.

The Kerala Livestock Development Board Ltd. was established in the year 1976.
Advent of the Kerala Livestock Development Board (KLDB) could be traced back to the amalgamation of the Indo Swiss Project, Kerala (ISPK) and the Bull Station, Dhoni of the Dairy Development Department during 1976. The Kerala Livestock Development and Milk Marketing Board (KLD&MMB) which was formed during that year was later bifurcated into the Kerala Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (KCMMF) and the Kerala Livestock Development Board (KLDB), a fully Government owned company during the year 1983.

All three semen stations of KLDB(Mattupatti, Dhoni & Kulathupuzha) are graded as “A” by Central Monitoring Unit constituted by the GOI continuously during 2014 & 2016 and all three stations have ISO 9001:2008 & HACCP certifications

NATIONAL PROJECT FOR BOVINE BREEDING
With a view to cover the entire breedable cattle of the state through AI programme, using frozen semen, the Government of India is Sponsoring National Project for Bovine Breeding
GOAT BREEDING CENTRE
The major proportion of the goat population in Kerala belong to Malabari breed and is well adapted to the agro-climatic conditions of the State. As a part of the diversification programme, the Board, during the year 1990-91, started a pilot project on goats at Kulathupuzha.
FODDER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME
The importance of proper feeding in economic dairy farming need not be over – emphasized. The Board had taken up fodder development as one of the most important activities right from the very beginning
FROZEN SEMEN MANAGEMENT
The State has evolved a three-tier Artificial Insemination (A.I.) management system to provide the inputs for cattle breeding namely Bull Stations , Regional Semen Banks (RSB), Artificial Insemination Centres.
SIRE SELECTION PROGRAMME
With the objective of identifying the most suitable bulls as the sires for the next generation, the KLDB ventured into the field progeny-testing programme involving the two basic tasks viz.,
EMBRYO TRANSFER PROGRAMME
Multiple Ovulation Embryo Transfer (MOET) was introduced for production of superior sires. Under this technology, the genetic quality of the elite cows is utilized for the production of next generation bulls.

The Kerala Livestock Development Board Ltd. was established in the year 1976.
Advent of the Kerala Livestock Development Board (KLDB) could be traced back to the amalgamation of the Indo Swiss Project, Kerala (ISPK) and the Bull Station, Dhoni of the Dairy Development Department during 1976. The Kerala Livestock Development and Milk Marketing Board (KLD&MMB) which was formed during that year was later bifurcated into the Kerala Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (KCMMF) and the Kerala Livestock Development Board (KLDB), a fully Government owned company during the year 1983.
