"Jupiter Joe" Sentenced
Bronx District Attorney announced that Joseph Martinez (AKA Jupiter Joe)
was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for the 1999 murder of 13-year-old Minerliz
Soriano, the first case in NYC solved using familial DNA.

On January 30, Special Victims Division Chief Joseph Muroff received the Morgenthau Award at DAASNY's 2026 Annual Winter Conference.
Bronx Gun Buyback
at St. Luke's Episcopal Church
On December 13, 180 firearms were collected at our second Gun Buyback! A special thanks to Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie for providing funding for electronics and gift cards which incentivized people to turn in their firearms.
