His Excellency Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika
President of the Republic of Malawi.
His Excellency Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika was sworn in as Malawi's seventh president on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre. The ceremony followed his victory in the September 16, 2025, presidential election, marking a return to the presidency after a five-year hiatus.
The oath:
Mutharika was sworn in by Chief Justice Rizine Mzikamanda. He pledged to "faithfully perform the functions of the high office of President, defend the Constitution, and serve Malawi without fear or favor". Jane Ansah was also sworn in as Vice President.
