On August 4, 2000, the Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency (CSOSA) was certified as an independent executive branch agency. CSOSA has since transformed community supervision in the Nation’s Capital by focusing on evidence-based practices that address the unique needs and risks of each person on supervision.

CSOSA’s mission is to effectively supervise adults under our jurisdiction to enhance public safety, reduce recidivism, support the fair administration of justice, and promote accountability, inclusion and success through the implementation of evidence-based practices in close collaboration with our criminal justice partners and the community.
OUR MISSION

Over the course of FY2024, CSOSA supervised 10,911 unique individuals in the District of Columbia.
More than half (53%) of CSOSA’s employable supervised population was employed at the end of FY2024.
Community supervision officers conducted 28,313 visits to the homes of supervisees in FY2024.
