Since completion of the cleanup of the former Climax Mill Site in Grand Junction, CO, the area has been returned to the community. Las Colonias Park features an amphitheater (pictured), a skate park, hiking/biking trails, dog park, & a Lazy River feature.
LM’s mission is to safeguard human health, environments, and public properties bound to the nation’s post-closure responsibilities at former atomic defense sites. DOE has taken significant environmental cleanup steps, and we are protecting the outcome of that work with long-term stewardship.
