Climate Change Rulings
The recent Advisory Opinions of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS) affirm what we have always known: governments have a duty to act against climate change and protect our people, oceans, and future generations.
As the Office of the Solicitor General (OSG) -- the People’s Tribune and defender of the Republic -- we uphold this duty by advancing environmental justice and supporting policies that safeguard our nation’s ecological future. But real climate justice also starts with us. Small actions, like saving energy, reducing waste, joining cleanups, or speaking up for climate solutions, can make a lasting difference.
