Policy Priorities
Promotion of ICT Literacy and Digital Inclusion
The ministry aims to enhance ICT literacy among citizens, ensuring that individuals from all
walks of life have the skills and knowledge needed to use digital technologies effectively.
This includes initiatives to bridge the digital divide, providing access to technology and
digital education in rural and underserved areas.
E-Government Implementation
MICT & PS often oversees the implementation of E-Government initiatives, facilitating the
digitization of government services and processes. The objective is to enhance the efficiency,
transparency, and accessibility of public services for citizens and businesses.
Cybersecurity and Data Protection
Ensuring the security and privacy of digital systems and data is a critical objective. The
ministry may work to enforce data protection laws, and raise awareness about online threats
among citizens and businesses.
Promotion of ICT for Education and Healthcare
MICT & PS through its parastatals bodies focuses on integrating technology into education and healthcare systems. This can involve initiatives to digitize educational content, provide telemedicine services, and improve access to quality education and healthcare in remote areas.
Postal Services Modernization
The Ministry oversees modernization of postal services by introducing digital solutions for efficient tracking of parcels, improving the overall postal experience. This effort will contribute to South Sudan’s progress, economic growth and overall quality of life.
Digital Infrastructure Development
Our primary goal is to maintain strong digital infrastructure for seamless communication and connectivity across the country. This includes broadband networks, telecom systems, and data centers.
