2026 Scholarships Opportunities
BAS 2026 Dig Scholarships
The Biblical Archaeology Society offers scholarships of $2,000 for those who wish to participate in archaeological excavations
and demonstrate sufficient need.

. Please note, applicants must have applied for or been accepted to an excavation project prior to applying for the scholarship. The deadline for applications is March 20, 2026.

The Tel Abel Beth Maacah Excavations are directed by Naama Yahalom-Mack and Nava Panitz-Cohen, under the auspices of The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Academic advisors: Prof. Amihai Mazar (the Hebrew University of Jerusalem), Prof. Lawson Younger (Trinity International University).
Associate director: Matthew Susnow (The Hebrew University of Jerusalem).
This project has been made possible by the very generous financial

Please meet Avia Elharar, our ace pottery restorer. Avia is doing an amazing job and has already put together several pithoi from Area A (which are taller than her!) and is breathing life into the dozens of storage jars found in the Area K storerooms.
