Calvin Remembers Dóra Sallay
Since 1997, Dóra Sallay ’92, who was the curator of early Italian paintings at the Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest, Hungary, taught an Italian Renaissance Art course for Calvin students in its Semester in Budapest program. She died in mid-April following a lengthy illness.

What if the central character in Bye Bye Birdie was deaf? That question sparked a bold reimagining by the Calvin Theatre Company - resulting in a production where the lead role of Kim MacAfee is performed by two actors simultaneously: one through American Sign Language (ASL) and one through spoken word and song, together forming a single, unified character.
