Free entry
Entry to Jersey Museum, Art Gallery and Victorian House is free.
Watch our Story of Jersey film in the theatre and visit the ‘aspiring Jersey Island Geopark’ Visitor Centre and the Link Gallery. Admire pieces of art as you wander round the museum, including a portrait of Lillie Langtry by Sir John Everett Millais. Step inside the beautifully restored, gas-lit Victorian House and learn the story of a Victorian family in crisis as you hear the story of Dr Charles Ginestet, who abandons his beautiful home and flees to France to start a new life.
Our permanent exhibition ‘
La Tèrr’rie d’Jèrri – d’s histouaithes dé not’ Île / Being Jersey – stories of our Island
‘ is open on the first floor, come and explore what makes Jersey a special Island. Although Jersey is just a tiny – a small dot on the world map, it size belies the breadth of its unique and varied heritage. This exhibition celebrates some of our Island’s most significant moments and discovers how living here has affected the lives of just a few of those four million. Using our most special objects as witnesses to our past, it explores how we have come to be an Island and Islanders.

Geopark Visitor Centre
Jersey Heritage are partners in the Island’s bid to become a Geopark. The ‘aspiring Jersey Island Geopark’ Visitor Centre is located on the ground floor of Jersey Museum. The Visitor Centre is an introduction to Jersey and Island life, where you can discover the Island’s geological heritage and the
igneous origins of Jersey.
Geoparks celebrate the links between people and the Earth and the Visitor Centre explains why Jersey’s outstanding landscapes and seascapes could make the Island a candidate for future designation. Jersey is more than just the rock it is made of – our Island is an incredible combination of natural, built and intangible heritage. A Geopark can tell the whole story and, if Jersey is successful in achieving a designation, it will be a statement of commitment to protect the Island we all love and to promote the landscapes, seascapes and heritage that are important to Islanders.
