Update to filing workplace charges of discrimination
Beginning October 1, 2025, Minnesotans who believe they were discriminated against in the workplace and would like to also preserve any rights they may have under federal law, must separately and independently file with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

The Minnesota Human Rights Act prohibits discrimination in places like

Certain businesses contracting with the State of Minnesota, cities, counties, and the University of Minnesota are required to have a Workforce Certificate, an Equal Pay Certificate, or both.
