Food & Drinks Laboratory
Conducts chemical analysis and
organoleptic tests
on food and agricultural products.
Also performs chemical analysis and
organoleptic tests
on both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
Microbiology Laboratory
Microbiology laboratory conduct testing of food, animal feed stuffs, water, environmental monitoring, pharmaceutical and cosmetics samples.
We also conduct training in various microbiological methods. Custom training programs can be designed to meet specific Industry requirements.
Mycotoxins and Histamine Laboratory
Analyzes food products (such as cereals, legumes, fish) for toxin levels.
Metallic Contaminants Laboratory
Determines levels of contaminants and essential elements in various products.
Pesticides Residues Laboratory
Perform analysis to ascertain level of pesticides residues and other residues (including veterinary drug residues) as well as active ingredient in formulations.
Forensic Laboratory
Undertakes analysis on toxicology and forensic samples/specimens including tissues and narcotics.
Textiles and Leather Laboratory
Undertakes physical and chemical tests on textiles, leather and related products.
Drugs Laboratory
Undertakes analysis on drugs and related products.
Cosmetics Laboratory
Undertakes chemical analysis on cosmetics and related products.
Histopathology Laboratory
Undertake tests on tissues and other samples for medical diagnoses.
Mechanical Laboratory
Undertakes physical and chemical tests on mechanical products including steel products, roofing sheets, domestic utensils, machetes and gas cylinders.
Civil Laboratory
Undertakes physical and chemical test on civil product including building and road construction materials, (Concrete cubes, sand/concrete blocks, concrete pipes/culverts, fine and coarse aggregate, cement.)
Electrical and Electronics Laboratory
Undertakes physical tests on electrical and electronic products including electrical cables, refrigerating appliances, compact florescence lamps, solar energy appliances, sockets and switches.
General Chemistry Laboratory
Undertakes chemical tests on wide range of products including household chemicals, paints, fertilizers etc.
Petroleum Laboratory
Undertakes chemical analyses on petroleum and related products.
Water Laboratory
Undertakes chemical analyses on water to ascertain quality and level of compliance with applicable standards.
Polymer and Plastics Laboratory
Undertakes physical test on plastics, polymer and paper products.
Precious Metals Laboratory
Undertakes assay of Gold and Hallmarking.
Pattern Approval of Measuring Instruments
The Scientific Metrology Department is responsible for the certification of every new weighing and measuring equipment before it is use in the country by approving its pattern if it conforms to acceptable Standards.
