People at the Heart of GMH →
Our hospital was born to care for the civilian population in Guam after World War II. To honor the brave Chamorros who suffered for their courageous support, the hospital was named the Guam Memorial Hospital.

To replace the rapidly deteriorating Guam Memorial Hospital facility, the U.S. Department of Interior purchased and transferred a nearby hospital called the Medical Center of Marianas to the Government of Guam—and soon became the current Guam Memorial Hospital.
The Guam Memorial Hospital has served the island community for over half a century. As the COVID pandemic hit, GMH has been designated as the COVID hospital on Guam to access and treat COVID-19 patients. The Skilled Nursing Unit has been designated as the COVID isolation facility.
