Citizens of the World Empowering students to overcome future challenges while leading successful and satisfying lives Our Identity The Lycée Français International de Delhi (LFID) is the only school in India officially recognized by the French Ministry of Education, offering both the French Baccalauréat and the French International Baccalaureate (BFI) program, accredited by Oxford AQA, and recognised worldwide. What sets the BFI apart is its strong bilingual dimension: students benefit from the excellence of the French curriculum while also studying advanced English literature and history. This unique combination makes the BFI especially attractive to English speaking families seeking high-quality English education alongside the strengths of a French diploma. Both programs are widely recognized by universities worldwide, giving our students a strong advantage in getting admission in high ranking universities internationally. Rooted in a rich tradition and reflecting the strengthening of Indo-French educational collaboration, this multicultural school welcomes students from over 35 nationalities, including Indian nationals. It strives to instill the values of freedom, equality, and fraternity in all its students, preparing them to meet the challenges of tomorrow. The Lycée Français International de Delhi is accredited by the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE), which oversees a global network of more than 612 French schools with an enrollment of over 400,000 students. I am really proud to be part of this World School having more than 35 different Nationalities something extremely rare in any so-called International Schools. Our student-teacher ratio is one of the best in the world for both the students and the teachers as it helps teachers like me to give individual attention to my students. The French Curriculum is one of the best in the world and having myself graduated from this system, I am really happy that our LFID is offering the French Baccalauréat, an internationally recognised and appreciated Certificate through which our students are able to pursue their higher studies in prestigious universities around the world including France, Canada, UK and US. LFID is a place where kids enjoy their learning. They experience various cultures and have different perspectives on life. Our school doesn’t only deal with academics but it also teaches about life and values so that the children can become better human beings with the ability to adapt to change. As a teacher of mathematics at LFID, I am continually impressed by the caliberof the students we have the privilege of educating. The intellectual curiosity and eagerness to learn displayed by our students make teaching a truly fulfilling experience. LFID provides a conducive learning environment that encourages critical thinking and problem-solving skills, which are essential in the field of mathematics. Faculty Jushya Kapoor As an Indian student who had never been exposed to the French education system, I find this system to be very different but easy to adapt to. I enjoy my long days at this school, which can be tiring at times. It is the relatively small size of this school and its constant increase in diversity that allow me to feel like I am a part of a big evolving family. I was exposed to a lot of new cultures when I first came to this school and was fascinated by the similarities as well as the differences amongst them. This exposure has allowed me to gain knowledge about the world and to develop my multi-lingual capabilities, which, I believe, are the most important skills I will learn. Student Sayan Gupta I joined LFID in 2018, in the 8th Grade. Despite being an Indian student who previously held no experience in the French language and educational system, I felt immensely welcomed and found my place at the school. I started out with French as a Foreign Language (FLE) classes to gain native proficiency in the language. Within my first few weeks, thanks to the incredibly personal and efficient approach in these classes, the language barrier completely disappeared. It is from this point onwards that I discovered what the LFID truly offered. From History, to Mathematics and Philosophy, the teachers were truly methodical and thorough, ensuring that every student sailed through smoothly while learning as much as possible. With its extremely close-knit community of staff, students and teachers, as well as the open campus and facilities, a student of any background can find the path to their future at the LFID. Alumni Arpit Agarwal For long, we were frustrated by the rote learning system in our daughter's Indian school. When we moved to Pondicherry, we discovered a window to a new world of education at the Lycée. The French education system ignites curiosity, not conformity. Teachers guide, not dictate, helping with lively debates and critical thinking instead of passive memorisation. Small class sizes, with just 8-10 students, translates to individual attention and personalized learning. Teachers know each student, their strengths and weaknesses, and tailor their approach accordingly. I would wholeheartedly recommend the Lycée model of education to anyone seeking a transformative educational experience for their child. It's an investment not just in academics, but in their personal growth, critical thinking skills, and ability to thrive in an increasingly diverse and interconnected world.
